Question about Canon Vixia HF11 camcorder?
On my brand new Canon Vixia HF11 camcorder, when I download videos to the computer, why does it save the videos as a .m2ts file? is there a way to make it a .wmv file or a .avi file? can anyone help me?
That's why there are video editors that can deal with AVCHD video.
Sony Vegas and Adobe Premiere float to the top.
If you use a free or cheap converter, you will be reducing the video quality - which sort of defeats the purpose for getting a high def camcorder to begin with.
You did not tell us which computer or which video editor you are trying to use. Microsoft MovieMaker cannot deal with AVCHD video. Apple iMovie '08 or newer can if the Mac is using an Intel CPU.
Playing back the video will also be a challenge - You can try VLC player...
