Canon Eos 1ds mark 4?
I have worn out both a 20d and a 40d and now the mirror box on my 5d has worn out at a cost of £150. I am now thinking its time to go for fully pro bodies and stop messing around but am loathed to spend out on a mark 1ds mark 3 with the same sensor as the 5d mark 2 if next year they bring out the 1ds mark 4.
My question there for is does anyone have any idea when Canon are likely to bring out the 1ds mark4? i have seen some rumours of 29.9 mb backlight sensors but have no idea when they might bring it out. My tag question is how long realistically can I expect it to last
If you wait until the next "latest and greatest" Canon DSLR body is introduced you may never buy a camera. That is why I feel genuinely sorry for today's professional photographers. Every 18 to 24 months they have to buy a new DSLR body just to stay current. Today's "A List" DSLR is tomorrow's "D List" DSLR.
If you really would prefer to wait and see if the 1Ds Mark IV rumors are true, have your 5D Mark II repaired and use it until the rumor is proven true or false. Then buy the 1Ds Mark IV when (if) it becomes available. With your repaired 5D at least you'll be making pictures while you wait.
Please tell me exactly how the mirror box of your 5D wore out.
