EOS-1D Mark III
Canon camera recommendations?

I really want to upgrade from my P&S camera and want to get a Canon because I've heard they are very good. Although I don't have much experience with Canon at all so don't know that much.

Can someone recommend a good Canon Camera?

I really like taking pictures of animals far away (such as at the zoo), macro shots, landscapes ect. A camera with good lenses. =]

People have recommended these:

Canon EOS 350D DIGITAL
Canon Rebel EOS XTi or XSi
Canon EOS-1D Mark III

Out of all of these which one has the best quality?

If you answer please tell me why the camera you chose is good. =)

You can get the exact specifications on the Canon websites, I don't know which country you're in so I just used the USA site...

XTi - http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=139&modelid=14256

XSi - http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=139&modelid=16303

1D Mark III - http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=139&modelid=14999

I have an XTi (called a 400D here in Australia) and it does everything I need it to do, and there's much more I have to learn with it. I think the most noticeable difference between it and the XSi is that the sensor is 10.1mp as opposed to 12.2mp on the XSi. I got mine in a kit that included an 18-55mm and a 70-300mm lens, then I also brought a 28-80mm. The three lenses do everything I require of them, from portraits to landscapes (I would only buy another lense if I wanted to go into macro photography)

I love the range of accessories with Canon, there is a choice of three main flashes (I went for the middle range 430EX which works great) and an endless list of lenses which you can see here: http://www.canon.com.au/ftp/eos_ef_lens_guide%20web.pdf

As for the 1D...Personally I would like one, but I dont have the spare AU$6500.00 to pick one up!
