any advice before i buy the Canon XSi rebel?
I'm going to buy the Canon EOS Rebel XSi 12.2 megapixels within the next few days.
I'm new to SLR cameras, but I love photography and i'd like to learn.
any advice/tips/comments/suggestions/concerns before I buy the camera?
I have the 450D (XSi) and think it's an excellent dSLR. It's small in size and extremely easy to use. I'm sure you'll love it.
I recommend you read the manual thorougly and also learn as much as you can about photography in general (exposure, ISO, shutter speeds, aperture, etc. etc)...so you can feel confident in using the camera's manual features such as aperture priority (I use this 99% of the time).
One tip...if you're having trouble getting the correct focus, use the centre AF point only. Also, there are three different AF modes, so learn what each is and when best to use each one. Also, you need to learn about ISO and learn why and when to adjust it etc.
